I recently had to reinstall OS on my workstation, and reinstalling Creo. I have perpetual license of 2.0, but no active support and can only find my 1.0 disc. Is there anywhere I can download the 2.0 install files?
Creo 2.0 install disk/files
Re: Creo 2.0 install disk/files
The only legal place you can obtain the CDs is from PTC.
Contact PTC support and explain your situation.
Re: could any body give a review of creo parametric 3.0?
I tried breaking this in my version and I have not been able too. I created a drawing note with special text both created using the buttons as well as manual code and could not find anything that it did badly. It wraps and resizes just like it does in Creo2 and in WF4. If anything, I like it more now than I did before.
So I am thinking that either PTC did a great job fixing a bug 9 software builds later (I am using M100 and you ~M010), or we have very different workflows in our company and I am not reproducing your situation (Or I missed something and it is going to come back and haunt me later! :-) ). For us I think the vast majority of our users will see this specific issue as a significant improvement, while being thankful that we can still edit inside the note dialog box. If I have missed something on this specific, by all means point it out to me/us. :-)
As for other changes in Creo 3 over Creo 2, requiring extra keyboard taps and clicks to create dims was a bad idea and a step backwards, and their may be other similar steps backward. If the were coming out with Creo 2 I think PTC's marketing dept would have a hay day in promoting that the users no longer have to hold the keyboard in order to create a dim (or have to hold the keyboard to override that stupid ribbon context specific requirement in order to select something or...etc)

That's exactly what I was looking for, Tom. Thank you very much for your help.
Set default drawing frame in Creo 3.0
Hi everyone,
by starting a new drawing, I try to set a preselected drawing frame. Until now there appears a table of all possible formats. It is very costly to change the frame always manually. Do you have an idea where I can change the default settings in the config (for instance preselect an A3 format).
I´m still a beginner in Creo 3.0
Thanks at all
Justus

Re: How to measure dimensions with 2 decimal places by default
Hi Steven,
Thanks a lot, it's working fine.
Re: Migration
The data will not migrate, you will have to create a new design in Schematics. Plan on keeping AutoCAD available for a while to view old designs (if you do not have PDFs or other viewable files for them). We have been saving PDF copies of our designs from our previous schematic sketching software and our Pro/Diagram files so that they are viewable without the software.
We are talking with an outside vendor to do some redrawing of designs that we know will be the starting point for new revisions. This could be done in house from our PDF copies but is being done to save our designers time in the migration process. They will have a starting point ready for their new work instead of needing to start from a blank design.
I will echo Antonius's comment about getting a consultant to help plan your system. We are using a hybrid system (it combines the schematic and wiring diagram into one design sheet) with a lot of automation to make the designer's daily work easier at the expense of a lot of one time items for the librarian. If you go from PTC's literature, you will not see this in their suggestions.
The cost, compared to the time saved, was well worth it.
The biggest thing that will hit you is that you will need to develop a library of parts. The PTC tool for sketching them is much maligned but quite easy to use if you ignore 90% of it. We tried using DXFs from our old software (never intended for this use) to create the start of symbols but it generated a large number of entities that Schematics could not understand and caused issues trying to edit them. Our best results was just printing the old symbols with a grid turned on and using that to create parts that could be used in many symbols.
One result of this is that having to redraw the symbols completely gave us a chance to make the new one consistent. Our old ones were created on the fly by various people and didn't quite match and some were just plain wrong.
Re: Schematics
You might be able to just import the DWG as a sketch (not really a Schematics design with data) that you can look at.
To get a real design in Creo Schematics, you will need to create a library of components and connect them with fibers (their term for wires) so that the data ability gives you something more useful than a picture.
It might be possible (we don't have AutoCAD) to bring in your DWG as a sketch on one layer and use that to place components and the wires in another.
My guess is that it will be easier to use a printed image to redraw the designs that you need to work with in Schematics and keep the ones that will not need to migrate in a viewable form.
Re: I have many questions can u help me with that?
You can add fonts to creo by placing the ttf file in the folder <loadpoint>\Common Files\text\fonts\
For the other question about line thicknesses and colors, search the community or help for pen table files.
Re: Creo 2.0 install disk/files
You can find PTC's software reseller in your region here:
Re: Drawing Program User Guide, Tutorial and Hands-On Workshop
A parameter is local to the model it's used in. Just like any variable is local to the function or subroutine. Otherwise there would be no way to know which parameter was being referred to.
Firefox ESR setting for WC and Creo View 4
Is there a list of settings one must set to stop the pop-ups that Firefox won't install when opening Creo and/or the detail structure tab? I tried to disable the version checker from being installed but it keeps returning.
Once we upgraded to WC 11.0 and Creo 4 the first Cad object you open with Creo, Creo makes you log into it. That did not used to happen before the upgrade. We are running our WC HTTPS now.

How to create or add a revision cloud in Creo drawing?
Chamfer/Round
Re: Chamfer/Round
try to reorder the rounds. The smaller rounds on the ribs can be added after the chamfer or the round that you are trying to create.
Re: Chamfer/Round
Hi Manjunath
I still cannot create a chamfer or round at this point. I deleted all the chamfers and rounds and tried a different order but no luck.
Any pointers?
Re: Chamfer/Round
See attached part. I had to edit the Extrude_5 and re-add the rounds around...
Re: Chamfer/Round
Thanks MRV
What was wrong with Extrude_5 to cause that problem? I could see a step but it was very small.
