Shawn,

if your component is connected by search path you can

- suppress your component

- erase component from memory

- resume

If you are not using search paths

- suppress your component

- erase component from memory

- open component

- resume

You are right, i came into to work this morning, opened up the drawing, & changed the parameter value. I also realized why i struggled yesterday. One of the values i was attempting to change was locked by relation, i just didn't notice the message warning me of this, it has been a while since i last worked with this master model & drawing. But i still stand by what is said yesterday, having 2 or more parameters in a cell seems to alter the behaviour, if you right click you don't see the 'edit value'.

How to create center line between patterned slots??

Hello everyone,

I have a need to create center lines between the slots made between the patterned features. I have uploaded the picture of my model. Even though I somehow managed to create it but it took me lot of time by taking offsets and trimimg etc. Is there any easy way of doing it. The Right side pic shows exactely how I want it.

Thank you.

Shashi

Hi.

If your part is centered with the default datum planes,

You can create datum axis with the default datum plane and the surface of your part,

After you only have to use the show/model annotation in the drawing mode.

Your axis should appear, know you only have to add the centerline note (don't forget relate to view ).

Good Luck

You can sketch an "axis point" in sketcher.   This can be part of another feature and will be part of the features pattern.  You can then show the axis in the drawing.

Shashi,

I beleive that from what I am seeing that you would have to create the datum pints in a sketch at each end of the slots that you have created.  Then accept the sketch.  Using these points you can place axis lines thru two points for each of the slots.  This will be very time consuming!

Just wondering what does the cross section of the slots that you created.  If there is a rounded bottom on the slots then you can forget the sketch and just place the axis on the center of that rounded bottom.  If it has a flat bottom then you wiill need to use the sketch.

Just remember to use the "DATUM POINT" not the "SKETCHING POINT".  Sketching points will not show up after the sketch is complete.

Good luck.

Kevin

You don't in WF5 either.  Are you positive you get 'Edit Value' for multiple parameters in a cell with just the cell selected?

Single Value = Edit Value

Double Value = Wrap Text

I just opened a support case.  We'll see where it goes.  (Hopefully not "working to spec."!)

Just want to keep us guessing. Sort of like the kids old computer games and dvds where you find the secret passages and bonus features.

Table text format rules

A row was added to the bottom of an existing table. What are the rules for the format of the new row in the table? Are they supposed to follow the format of the row that you click in to add the row or do they default to a config setting? You can see that the format does not match the row from which it was inserted.

Insert and start typing (Pic 1)

Format of the existing row (Pic 2)

Table_Text3.PNG

If instead of typing in the new row, you cut and paste the contents of the old row to the new row, the format is closer, but still not the same. Do others have this experience, or am I doing something wrong. If you compare Pic 2 to Pic 3 you see that everything is the same except the vertical alignment. The existing alignment was "Middle" and the new row into which the contents of the old row were pasted is "Bottom of".

Insert row, copy and paste content from old row to new row (Pic 3)

Creo 3 Printing Interface

Hi all, i have been working with Creo 3, trying to get to grips with the changes. Like i have said in a previous post, its pretty much the same as Creo 2. Nearly all my mapkeys continue to work, except the ones i had for printing, there is a new printing interface, which meant having to re-record those, but something is different. In Creo 2 & earlier, i ran my mapkey (one click of the mouse), job done, i moved on to the next thing. In Creo 3, when i run my mapkey, it cannot complete the print operation without 2 additional clicks at the end. I have recorded & re-recorded these mapkeys, ensuring i record all selections including 'Close Print Preview' to completely exit the Print Preview tab, but the system will not record these last 2 selections. Its a pain in the backside. Is anyone else having problems with Print Preview?

Another thing, this is all new & maybe i am just not understanding the functionality, but the Orientation button (landscape & portrait) seems to work in reverse, i select landscape & i see the sheet (not my drawing) turn portrait & vice versa. Maybe its just me doing something wrong, any advice greatly appreciated.

The formatting for new rows/columns does not follow previous rows/columns. Unfortunately there is no way to predefine this. It's been this way forever.

Attempting to set the formatting will also not work on empty cells.  There needs to be at least a space character present.    Of course if there is a space character present you can't copy and paste - that only works if the destination cell is empty.  Very annoying.

Dimensions appear too far out

$

This may have been discussed before as it's generally pretty annoying and slows down drawing rather a lot.

In sketch mode, is there any way to stop dimensions from appearing outside of the visible screen after you have created geometry?

Angular dimensions seem to be the worst culprit, with leader lines leading off screen requiring me to zoom out a few hundred metres in order to read the dimension, grab it and drag it back!

Also frustrating is, when measuring in the analysis tab, the dimension will often appear behind the measure toolbox.

Are there any settings I can change to get rid of these frustrating "features"?

Many thanks!

Creo Installation

In my past job, the admin created a script to check and pull the Creo (WF5) and any updates using the shortcut on our desktops.

I am in a new job and we have a need to install the latest update to ~100+ folks at my location.  I have asked the IT here to write a script to do basically the same.  I was told they do not have the resouces here so I'm on my own.

With that being said, is there a tool or software I can use to basically do the same without having IT to write a script?

* Shortcut that user will select to run Creo

* if there's an update copy the latest update and override the config.sup/pro etc

Thank you all in advance!

Is there a reason why the copy/paste does work?

Copy/paste brings all of the formatting except vertical position (as you show above).  Why?  I have no idea.

Tech support has confirmed the issue and is creating an SPR.

I agree that Creo is better in some ways for dwg.  I don't know why they had to break a tool that was working so well and then let years pass without fixing it (they broke it in WF5)

Look at the product ideas that I updated the links on above.

Basically, you can no longer show all dimensions/datums/notes that are currently not shown within the show dialog.  You can only show 'annotations' that have never been shown, or are deleted.  You cannot show erased dimensions/annotations!  All they need to do is allow erased annotations to be displayable in the show dialog (formally show/erase dialog).
