Re: Sheetmetal - Surface need to thicken
When you say make it all in sheetmetal to start with. Are you saying to make the first flat surface and then add then vertial sides, then add on the flanges. I apologize - both surfaces and sheetmetal...

Antonius,Did add thickness when you added the blend or did you make blend surfaces? Thanks, Dale

I forgot to mention that the large flat surface is tapered from the tall vertical sides and gets narrow toward the small vertial sides.

I think the challenge for parts like this is to make the flat pattern setup efficient for shear and punch operations. For instance, the shape would be very different if you cut the flat pattern...

The Blend feaute became the 1st feature so it gives you a choice for the offset direction and thickness in one go, and yes, it solidified directly and recognized all the bends.

This is the beauty of being able to work in the flat with extrudes while in sheetmetal mode. I can optimize the punch setup by having long shear lengths and only 1 angle square punch. Of course,...

Interesting problem. Normally the dispenser or the part is mounted to an X-Y table (like a CNC mill). Not only do you need to keep the part under the dispenser, but you also have to manage velocity...

You need to add that tab in all modes seperately i.e. Part, assembly and drawing

I have already done this. But, when I open each there is a different activated tab that the one I created. I want to be able to go straight to work once I open each format without having to activate...

This does not exist so there is no right way. You can manually build the table and place each dimension in a cell and it will present the dual dimension.Of course, this means careful construction of...

The bug must have been a fluke. I cannot reproduce the error.
View ArticleRe: Dual dimensining in holw table
Okay, I reproduced the issue and it turns out to be a bug from back in WF5. Worse, PTC has decided this is not worth fixing! Anyone know how I can bring this up to the head of software quality...

I hope PTC is paying attention to this thread. Why do in sheetmetal what actually works in solid modeling and convert it after the fact
