Hey Sean,

We have people using Creo with Workbench today.  Based on customer requests we’ll soon be implementing special Pro E suffixes for people who want to take advantage of Workbench versioning.

I'll keep you updated when it's available.

Have a great day.

Yes...that's it.  As I did it earlier.  Thanks for the link.

This is one of the weaknesses in Creo.  You have to do major surgery on the hole files (*.hol).

Since I use different standards which are client dependent, I find the default notes useless, and editing the hole files a waste of time.  I try to use as many of the already provided parameters as I can, but for the most part, the provided note is useless.  Just the "UNC - 2B" rather than "UNC-2B" drives me nuts.  And yes, this too can be fixed.  End of a paramter in a text string

If you have a company standard, it is worth investigation and locking it down as an IT managed standard configuration.  You have to remember not to loose them during an upgrade.

Thanks a lot Steven,

You were right. I was using 'extrude'.

Well, when should we use 'extrude' and when prefer 'sketch' ?

Another question! My concern lies primarily in drawing 3D mechanical models. And I am a beginner afore mentioned. So how should I proceed in learning creo and mastering it. Any practice exercises you recommend?

Hi ,

I am facing a problem. whenever I try to rename the instances of the generic part in the assembly then

those part names are removed from the drawing table in the assembly.

Please find the attachment for more clarification.

Text Re-Sketch on Ref-Sketch at one shot

Hi folks,

Is there any simple method to re-sketch on ref sketch of all letters in single shot for "with draft feature" in offset. abc.PNG

aaa.PNG

By using this we can only create entire loop. but i am looking for all letters in a single shot, not by selecting individual letter. similar to "select all" if there is any option for this, So that we can save lots of time while creation of text embossing on part.

Interesting problem.

I think you've noticed that mapkeys/trail file recording captures positions, not selections. Unless everything in each list is the same, the mapkey recorded that way won't work.

What may work better is to include a search for the item of interest (binoculars) The item of interest should be the only item on the results list, making its list position the same, and allowing the mapkey to proceed. You'd likely create a Query and save it, then use the mapkey to open the query in whatever assembly you are working in.

If a search isn't possible, then you can have the mapkey pause** so you can make selections. Once made, you can resume mapkey execution. Pauses can be recorded while making the mapkey and can include prompts to remind the user what selections need to be made.

**I notice there is a Pause in your mapkey, but others reading this may not.

Matt,

Click on the note, right click, then select Edit Value.

This will let you edit the sting of parameters that drive the note.  You can rearrange them, delete them, or add your own text as you like.

I think you are stuck with having to select each loop until they let us select the sketch rather than creating a new one.

Then would it be easier to do the draft as a seperate feature after you created the text?

I fully appreciate your question, Ravi.  But the answer you want isn't there.

Just look at it this way:

You create the master text sketch as a stand alone feature.

You then create the offset feature and -copy- the master text sketch using the loop option of the Project action in sketcher.  This is a very simple process... or should be.

- I am not understanding how this is difficult (?)  You are on WF5?  I am not familiar with its limitations in sketcher.

And also know that you will loose associativity easily if you make significant changes to the original text sketch.  Small moves may be preserved but large moves or changes will loose the Project associativity.  Knowing this, you want to make sure there is not significant action on the embossing feature you created or know that it won't change significantly (check your spelling! ).

I believe it should be easier and more reliable than this.  But for now, this is certainly better than it has ever been in the past.  Optionally, we can use also use decals through the Appearance Manager.
