Re: Firewall Settings

Hi,

in current Windows version I use the following method:

1.]

On license server I install FLEXnet 10.8 (available on Proe WF5 DVD)

2.]

I modify license.dat to contain two lines similar to the following ones
SERVER servername PTC_HOSTID=serverMACaddress 7788

DAEMON ptc_d D:\PTC\flexnet\x86e_win64\obj\ptc_d.exe D:\PTC\flexnet\licensing\ptc.opt port=7789

3.]

I restart license server.

4.]

I define Inbound rule in Windows Firewall to enable communication via 7788,7789 TCP ports.

Thank you Martin for reply,

I tried your method but could not modify license.dat,(Access was denied)

What I did was I added exceptions in firewall for lmgrd.exe and ptc_d.exe and it started working.

Hi,

you used the second possible method. You are the winner ,

The thing is that I want some of the quilts to show, i.e. the ones which should be visible and not hidden behind a part.  Is there no way to just hide the hidden ones?

This is even easier

I am testing Creo 3.0 F000 at the moment for the rest of the office, you now can do this.

enviornment light and perspective with hdri image.JPG

by just using the envoironmental light and HDRI, then click perpective, you have a 360 degree sphere image.

enviornment light and perspective with hdri image 2.JPG

enviornment light and perspective with hdri image 3.JPG

These images are not rendered  , this is creo 3.0 new photo realistic appearnces, you can close the render window and it still remains, and can be rotated a full 360 degree sphere.

No need to set up a scene

I have also created an animated.gif file of what can be done with HDRI images as an envoirnmental light

Creo parametric will open PKG files if you configure it for that.  That is one huge file, however.

I want to substract  one cylinder from other. Hoe to do this and one more thing after substraction also the two bodies should remain

That is not typical behavior for Creo.  You can make a hole, revolve cut, or extrude cut but if you want both bodies to remain, you will need to look up merge bodies.

What you describe is a boolean operation which is built into Creo parametric features.  Also, part files in Creo merge when they are solid bodies.  You can have multiple solid bodies as long as they are not in contact with each other.

Surfaces on the other hand (quilts) have some more flexibility.  You can intersect, merge, join, and trim different surfaces for whatever reason.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish?

Mabe you need to change the software that you are using.  This practice that you are talking about is what Creo Elements/Direct and Creo Driect use.

Hi,

I have tried to attach an assembly. Hope it works.

1. create two cylinders.

2. place in assembly

3. component operations - cut out.

4. Follow prompts.

5. Result is two cylinders. Large cylinder with hole the same as the smaller cylinder, the smaller cylinder is still available in assembly.

Don

No.  You would have to manually add the relations statement to each model manually.  The only two options I can think of are either writing a custom program to do this for you (J-Link, VB, SmartAssembly, etc.), or possibly doing something with Model Check.

You can add the default relations to your start part and start assembly. Any new parts or assemblies made would have these relations.

Joe,

You could also add these relations into the start part and start assembly, although this would only work for new parts.

How about this.  could I add more parameters to an existing template?PARAMETERS.JPG
