Dear David,

this seems interesting ,can you please elaborate the process that how to create a mapkey that loads the mapkey.txt (all mapkeys txt file) and store it in the config.pro.

Please help.

Is it possible to create a parametric for model automatically?

Hi!

I have thousands parts in a assembly, and I need to create drawing of the appropriate part.I have no ability to finish the works in one day.So I need a function that when I create a drawing, the appropriate part will be added a parametric record (called "drw" or other)and I will use search tool to find which part has no the parametric.so that I will know how many parts will be left over. If it possible,Please see the below picture123.jpgThanks!

check for something with ".CR" or ".dlm"

Removing hidden welds in drawing sections?

(Creo Parametric 2)
I am having trouble with hiding/removing a hidden weld in a section in drawing view.

With a normal projected view, I would simply select "Yes" for "Hidden line removal for quilts" in the drawing view properties.

However when I have a section view, this option is greyed out, leaving welds which should be hidden visible.

How do I go about hiding these, either as a general setting for the view or as a manual deleting process?

Many thanks

If you want the value of the parameter to be updated "manually", just create a parameter of the type "Yes No" with default value "No".

Relations_2014-09-10_20-39-02.png

Now create a mapkey to change this value to "YES", Save the mapkey.

I think you have a mapkey for creating a drawing with the same name of active model, just include the new mapkey in the beginning, using nesting technique for example.

This way each time you create a new drawing, the value or the parameter is updated.

Now, if you want Creo to check dynamically if a drawing exists for that model, I think you will need Toolkit or Jlink.

The fact that it use to work perfectly is a real problem.  This is typically a bottleneck in a not-found reference in the network chain.  But what can be poling the network?  Or the server crash may be a red herring... but then, what else has changed?  Are there other functions your workstation relied on this server for and the problem is in fact local?

PS: trail files are TRAIL.TXT.<nnn>

It looks like the trail files are local to both individual computers.

I've also been following the discussion on trail files.

Do you have a link that you could share as to there purpose/function?

See what you task manager is doing during the freeze.  See where the CPU, network and memory cycles are being allocated to.  You can even turn on some advanced monitoring functions (which is what I would expect the IT guy to be doing!).

Dale,

When you said the server crashed,  are you referring to the license server, or are you referring to an Intralink/PDMLink Server?

If it is an Intralink/PDMLink Environment, you proabably need to clear your local Cache after you have uploaded all your local work.

If not a Windchill Environment, then you might want to look at the health of the Hard Disk.

Thanks for your reply quicky."I think you have a mapkey for creating a drawing with the same name of active model,"Yes,l have used the mapkey that you provide called "new_drw.exe"http://communities.ptc.com/message/228370#228370Now it seems I had to create the parameter manually. Thanks!

Re: Creo Schematics 2.0 Drawing Units

HI Alex,

The units used in Creo Schermatics are according to the units of the sheet you have using, there is no design default.

for example :

  • if you are using sheets of size A0,A1,A2..and so on - the units will be mm
  • if you are using sheets of size E,D,..,AV,AH - the units will be inch

design can include both mm and inch sheets. there is no ability to converts sheets units (you can change sheets format-but it only will re-size the sheet and won't change the sheet units).

you can try to create new mm sheet (i.e. A0) and use 'move to sheet' to move all the sheet content from the inch sheet to the created mm sheet.

Gaby.

Which option is it that has to be chosen when it is created?

I already tried simply selecting "Yes" for "hidden line removal for quilts", before creating the section, however it reverted to "No" when it greyed out..

It was a network server that had a hard crash - no computer for over a week - hard to do cad.

No windchill (wind burn - right Frank S.  ) here. Just lonely ole me on two separate computers at one desk.

Health of the Hard drive? The individual computers hard drive?

Sure enough, relations do not scale.  Also watch for "along" a curve, either ratio or distance may affect feature angular postions.

Thanks Mahesh, that was obviously the root of the problem, i did as you instructed, & it launches cleanly now.

Thanks again

Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000 is not suitable for Creo.

Just noticed something kind of weird. I have a gap between icons in the quick acces toolbar. When i hover over the gap, 'rename' appears. I have this command added to the toolbar, i use it frequently. The icon is there, only now, it does not have a picture associated with it. In Creo 2, the rename icon has a picture. If you access this command through File, Manage File, then the rename command icon has a picture. I know in the scheme of things this is a minor issue, it just strikes me as strange.
