Re: Importing Iges/Step files into Creo Parametric 2.0 for Editing
In part it depends on what you mean by editting. PTCs parametric modeler is a procedural modeler that also allows changing named values. Procedural means that there is an order to the operations needed...

I think that dropping the & occurs when there is no matching parameter available. Perhaps if the drawing is saved before the format is added the drawing will get the Windchill parameters assigned...

In Creo there is a feature recognition tool which creates parametric features from geometry. You have to activate it by frt_enabled yes. Though very limited it may help in some cases.Reinhard

Aside from the time, it doesn't hurt to try. According to the following it reqiures a restart with the configuration option enabled....

Hey, we can trim this down somewhere to store downloaded at least restarting Crea again returns to its original value?

Are they importing and solid, or are they broken quilts? The first step is fixing them to make them solid, if they are not. I have had a ton of good luck with the flexible modeling. Even imports where...

Interesting. I'll have to try that! Do you mean "saved locally", or "saved in Windburn"? Thanks!
View ArticleRe: Format issues (&PTC_WM_REVISION:D)
Ok, the steps my co-worker took was to create a new drawing, with format, then saved it, which worked with our old formats (Intralink revision) but is not working with out windburn revision.

Feature recognition would be a best way to go. The hole would get recognized as a sketched hole. Too bad frt_enabled always switches to no in the later versions of Creo Parametric 2.0.

There are many ways to do what you want, yet when you have FMX. I'd get rid of that line in the hole, and place a datum axis there instead. FMX Move can move datums along with the geometry. Also FMX...

Here's my issue, I am designing a part with a helical sweep where the pitch varies from 1.33 to 4.6. This part is no problem, the issue is we want to be able to mold this part and as you can see in the...

You will not be able to mold that as a typical 2-sided mold. With a helix thare's always the issue of negative draft/undercuts. You will need a spinning core, and even then, because of the change in...

Nevermind, I'm seeing what the problem is now. Looks like you'll need to create a separate mapkey for adding )(2X) at the end of a dimension.
