The older Space Explorer is the one I have with the wrist pad. It's difficult to show, but my palm rests on the rubber pad at the base. My palm probably rests at about a 30 degree angle naturally....

Obviously the answer is to go back to the model and edit whatever feature has the appropriate reference and orientation. I often find it very annoying when the "wrong" arc of an equal constraint...
